eXtreme Films Presents: Street Punks

Street Punks is both a noble experiment and a wild ride. Inspired in part by Werner Herzog's legendary Sega Mega-Drive game Streets Of Rage , it paints a new world through two sets of shade-covered eyes. These are two punks best adapted to survive and thrive in this new reality, where might is right now, duty is for the future and you don't know who you gotta waste to get good gear. Meet the Street Punks.

Street Punks is an hour long comedy-action-adventure set in an alternate 1984 where Donald Rumsfeld has seized power and realised his American Dream, turning a once proud nation into a dystopian corporate wasteland. Axel and Kyle, a couple of hapless street punks, come to one morning and realise they owe the crime boss of Metro City a small fortune in drug money. We follow them through the wreckage of a metropolis as they battle through Metro City's lawless citizenry while trying to stay sober long enough to get the money back - before the Boss catches up and puts their "heads in a box".

Street Punks is the side effect of Andrew Gowans and Simon Read spending far too many hazy nights watching 70s and 80s exploitation films like The Warriors, Terminator and Manhunter, and extended gaming sessions playing Streets Of Rage and Double Dragon on antique games consoles.

Oh, and yes - the film boasts a cameo from Brat Pack author extraordinaire Bret Easton Ellis. How we pulled that one off is anyone's guess. Read more and download the film, or watch online, for free!
