The extreme backlash the Sonic Team faced from fans and critics alike over 2008's Sonic Unleashed has been taken on board.... Finally! In a pending press release the Sonic Team state they will be releasing an updated version of unleashed next year titled "Sonic '09".
Contained in the press release: "Overwhelmingly the feedback stated much of the game was too fast to play, so we have corrected this by removing Sonic's legs and replacing them with the torso of a garden snail. Now instead of going 'Super Sonic' Sonic will go 'Super Snail Mail' and slow down the the speed of a letter posted 2nd class Royal Mail during the festive season (Editor's note: about 1/3 of the speed of regular Sonic.) The rest of the game will remain identical, as there was nothing wrong with it."
